EDU Subscription FAQS
1) Do I need to provide proof of EDU eligibility?
Yes, you'll need to provide proof that you are currently a student or educator.
You must attach proof of enrolment to your order. Your proof of enrolment should include your Educational Institution (contact information) AND evidence of current enrolment (eg, student ID, enrolment letter). We also accept ANY of the following documents:
- Your current Student ID with a "valid to" date (preferred)
- Transcript
- Letter/Email of Enrolment
- Screenshot of current student portal
Please email sketchup@buildingpoint.com.au with your proof of current enrolment and reference your order number (which you will receive as soon as you have paid).
Note: If you sign up with a valid .edu email address – you do not need to submit proof of current enrolment.
2) What is the EDU Subscription term?
Each EDU Subscription plan is valid for 12 months. There are no other term options for either shorter or longer plans. At the end of your subscription, you can purchase a new EDU subscription for another 12 months, with up-to-date proof of your continued eligibility. Alternatively, if you are no longer a student or educator, you can always purchase SketchUp Pro. Make sure you place your order with SketchUp Australia for the lowest prices and local support.
3) Is there an option to set EDU subscription to auto-renew?
No, SketchUp Education Subscriptions do NOT automatically renew. If at the end of the subscription term, you are still eligible for a SketchUp Education Subscription for another year, you will need to place a new order with up-to-date proof of your continued eligibility.
4) Will I still be able to access all my files when I renew?
Yes, you can save your files in a folder on your computer for access any time when you have a valid SketchUp subscription.
5) How many people can use each subscription?
Each subscription is assigned to a single user for the duration of the subscription term.
6) How many devices can I use my SketchUp subscription on?
Each SketchUp Edu subscription can be authorised on up to 2 devices (plus 1 iPad) at the same time. You can deauthorise your subscription from your device to move the authorisation(s) to different devices. Only 1 of these authorised devices can be actively using SketchUp at any time (each subscription is only to be used by 1 person after all). You can mix authorisations between PCs and Macs.
7) When will my new subscription be ready to use?
You'll be sent emails and instruction to download and install your subscriptions, typically within a few hours of payment being received, provided you have also sent through your proof of enrolment.
