What is a Trimble ID?
Trimble Identity, also known as Trimble ID, is the sign-in functionality used for fast, secure access to SketchUp and all Trimble products. Trimble ID uses multiple layers of high-level protection, safeguarding your privacy and protecting your data.
Why do I need a Trimble ID?
You'll need a Trimble ID to sign in to download SketchUp and other SketchUp products. Your Trimble ID also provides access to 3D Warehouse, Extension Warehouse and SketchUp Community Forums.
How to create a Trimble ID?
If you have not purchased or used a Trimble product before with your SketchUp registered email, you'll receive an email after your purchase to invite you to create your Trimble ID before you continue.
You should refer to this article, Create and Activate your Trimble ID account ( After Purchase) to create your Trimble ID. Please check your spam messages to ensure you don't miss the emails. Please allow up to an hour to receive the emails.
However, if you have not made a purchase and just want to create a Trimble ID to access the free SketchUp for Web, you can follow the steps below.
Note: Even if you've used an email address for SketchUp products in the past, it does not mean you have a Trimble ID.
1. To create a Trimble ID, go to the sign in page for SketchUp for Web. On the Sign In page, click Create a Trimble ID.
2. Select your region from the options provided.
3. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Email address. Tick the box for "Terms of Use" and click "Agree and continue".
5. Create a password for your account and confirm that password in the spaces provided and click Submit. Your password must contain:

- At least 8 characters
- A number (0-9)
- At least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- A special character (!@#$%^&*-+)
