A common issue V-Ray users may encounter is a failure when activating their V-Ray license in SketchUp Studio. The most common reason this happens is when reinstalling V-Ray on a device that used an email different than the one used for SketchUp.
If you experience this error, you'll need to sign out and uninstall the Chaos license server on your device by following these steps:
Note: You must have an active SketchUp Studio subscription or Trial to use V-Ray with SketchUp.
Unassign and reassign the license to the correct email (same as SketchUp email)
1. Sign in to Trimble AMP
2. If your Trimble ID have access to multiple Trimble Accounts, select the Trimble Account with the subtitle “Purchased via BUILDINGPOINT AUSTRALIA PTY LTD”. Click on the "Members" tab.
3. Click on the three dots to the very right of each member and select 'Modify Product Access' and untick the box for SketchUp Studio ( the product in question).
4. Wait at least 5 minutes. Click Modify Product Access again and re-tick the box for the product license to the same user.
Reset the Chaos License Server
5. Open your preferred web browser and navigate to http://localhost:30304 to open the Chaos License Server.
6. Click Online Licensing at the top of the page and click Sign Out .
7. Navigate to https://accounts.chaos.com/trimble/login and click Continue with Trimble and sign in using your Trimble ID.
8. Return to SketchUp and sign out of your account.
9. Immediately sign back into SketchUp. Your V-Ray license is now activated in SketchUp Studio!
